Fritt Ukraina is now delivering one hundred drones to Ukraine’s Third Assault Brigade. The total value of the delivery is five million NOK, and the effort has been named Operation Kvarv. Half of the funding comes from the family-owned company Kvarv, based on the island of Frøya in Trøndelag, Norway.
The recipient is the Third Assault Brigade, a frontline unit operating in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine.

Funded by Witzøe on Frøya
Half of the donation – NOK 2.5 million – was provided by Gustav Witzøe and the family investment company Kvarv AS. The remaining half was raised by Ukrainian donors.
“We have made several contributions to Ukraine through Peter Christian Frølich, Natalia, and the rest of the volunteers in Fritt Ukraina,” says Gustav Witzøe of Kvarv.
“No one can do everything, but everyone can do something. That’s the spirit behind our donation. Keep up the great work, Fritt Ukraina.”
“We greatly appreciate the support from Witzøe, and from all the many others who contribute to Ukraine’s fight for freedom,” says Natalia Golis, Secretary General of Fritt Ukraina.

Enhanced capacity – even in the dark
The delivery includes thermal drones of the Mavic 3T type, which significantly increase the brigade’s ability to detect and track enemy movement, including at night.
“Targeted support like this has a direct impact on the front line. The drones will improve surveillance, coordination, and the protection of soldiers,” says Golis.

Transport No. 83
The first drones from Operation Kvarv were delivered in Fritt Ukraina’s transport number 83 in June 2025.
In addition to the drones, the shipment included five vehicles, including three Mercedes Vito vans donated by Eviny in Bergen, as well as ten high-capacity EcoFlow power stations, also provided by Eviny.
The transport also included high-quality uniforms for the Air Force unit operating the F-16 fighter jets donated by Norway. The uniforms were supplied by Nonstop Dogwear.
